A short correspondence, and twenty texts and twenty unpublished images, all printed on Amatruda paper in the closed format 30 x 40 cm, handcrafted binding, in 100 copies marked as follows: 65 in Arabic numerals from 1/65 to 1/65, XXX Roman numerals from I/XXX to I/XXX, 5 Ad Personam from 1 AdP to 5 AdP.

The first 40 examples in Arabic numerals, those in Roman numerals and those Ad Personam are accompanied by a variation on canvas hand-watercolored by Giorgio Griffa on a tracing made by printing, signed by the artist; and by a collage finished and retouched by hand in gray and red pencil by Giulio Paolini, signed and numbered by the artist. Both works in 40 x 60 centimeters format.

Elena Volpato, conservator and curator at the GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Turin, presents: Giorgio Griffa and Giulio Paolini. Words and images in two voices. Artist’s book created jointly by Giorgio Griffa and Giulio Paolini. The book was born from a dialogue around art, between two contemporary artists from Turin (Griffa by birth, Paolini by adoption) who meet again after a few decades, and rediscover an old youthful friendship that time has not affected. The edition is created by Colophonarte, a publisher in Belluno, in collaboration with the Giorgio Griffa Archive and the Anna and Giulio Paolini Foundation. Both artists will participate in the presentation.
