Open call MADE IN vol.3

MADE IN, the project invented and produced by Artissima since 2022 with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Torino, has issued its third open call for the selection of four artists in the new iteration of the project. The artists will have the opportunity to collaborate with this year’s four partner companies: Azimut Yachts, Manifattura Tessile DINOLE®, Sabelt and Xerjoff.

With the aim of assigning value to new forms of artistic expression and fostering the spread of ideas capable of triggering the economic and productive ecosystem of the “host territory” of Artissima, MADE IN stems from awareness that corporate know-how and specialized production processes can constitute a resource for the creation of an artwork. The four young artists will be able to delve into and work with four companies in the territory, absorbing and incorporating in their research the technological and operative capabilities with which they come into contact, leading to the chance to produce an original work to be presented at Artissima 2025.

During the course of the residency the artists will also be joined by four prestigious Torino-based galleries in the Artissima circuit, which support the works as they progress: Luce Gallery, Mazzoleni, Franco Noero and Simóndi Gallery.

For the third consecutive year, the curation of the project has been entrusted to Sonia Belfiore, founder of Ultravioletto Arte + Impresa.

The open call sent to the main public and private art academies and Italian universities is aimed at young people from 21 to 35 years of age residing in Italy. The deadline is 24 January 2025. The winning artists will start their interaction with their assigned companies in March, terminating in the production of the work in June 2025*.

The time of residency in the company will have a variable span, depending on the needs of the project. Each artist can formulate a working calendar in a flexible way, and in multiple periods. With the guidance of the Artissima team and Sonia Belfiore, each artist will be able to utilize the workmanship, materials and skills of the company, including options agreed upon prior to the implementation of the project.

* Each artist will be provided with a production budget and a hospitality one.
