Artissima Prizes: 4 November

Artissima announces the winners of the six prizes assigned on the second day of the International Contemporary Art Fair.

 

Tosetti Value Photography Award

Kiluanji Kia Henda is the winner of the 4th edition of the Tosetti Value Photography Award, organized by Tosetti Value – Il Family office and created with the aim of investigating the relationship between art and economics, expanding our perspectives on reality.

The artist is represented by Fonti, Napoli.

The award has been awarded by a jury composed of Walter Guadagnini, director, CAMERA – Centro Italiano per la fotografia, Torino, Salvatore Vitale, artistic director, Futures Photography, Amsterdam and Elena Volpato, conservator, GAM – Galleria Civica di Arte Moderna, Torino.

 

Matteo Viglietta Award by Collezione La Gaia

Igor Grubić wins the second edition of the Matteo Viglietta Award, organized by Collezione La Gaia and created to commemorate Matteo Viglietta, a great collector who had a particularly close bond with Artissima from the outset of the fair.

The artist is represented by Laveronica, Modica.

The award was assigned by an international jury composed of Eva Brioschi, curator, Collezione La Gaia, Busca, Zasha Colah, artistic co-director, ar/ge kunst, Bolzano, Zoë Gray, director of Exhibitions, Bozar, Brusselles.

 

Carol Rama Award by Fondazione Sardi per l’Arte

Marwa Arsanios is the winner of the 4th edition of the Carol Rama Award, organized by Fondazione Sardi per l’Arte and assigned to an artist whose research and work interpret the ideal of unconventional feminine creativity and artistic freedom embodied and transmitted by Carol Rama with her creations and her personality.

The artist is represented by mor charpentier, Paris, Bogotà.

The prize has been awarded by an international jury composed of Antonia Carver, director, Art Jameel, Dubai, Omar Kholeif, director and senior curator, Sharjah Art Foundation, Sharjah, and Milan Ther, director, Kunstverein, Amburgo.

 

“ad occhi chiusi…” by Fondazione Merz

Marwa Arsanios wins the third edition of the Prize “ad occhi chiusi…”, based on collaboration between Artissima and Fondazione Merz and assigned to international artists taking part in the fair whose work best reflects the activities of research of the foundation on young art in the Mediterranean.

The artist is represented by mor charpentier, Paris, Bogotà.

The prize has been awarded by an international jury composed of Lara Khaldi, artistic director, de Appel, Amsterdam, Beatrice Merz, president, Fondazione Merz, Torino; Agata Polizzi, curatorial coordinator, ZACentrale, Palermo, Francesco Stocchi, artistic director, MAXXI, Roma.

 

ISOLA SICILIA by Fondazione Oelle

Caroline Ricca Lee is the winner of the second edition of the Prize ISOLA SICILIA, organized by Fondazione Oelle to select one artist who will have the opportunity to take part in a residency at Aci Castello, in the province of Catania, during which to conduct research on the concept Sicily, Island among Islands.

The artist is represented by HOA, Sao Paolo.

The prize has been awarded by a jury composed of Antonia Alampi, director of Spore Initiative, Berlin, Andrea Bellini, director of Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva, Caterina Riva, director of MACTE, Termoli.

Premio Pista 500

Chalisée Naamani is the winner of the first edition of Premio Pista 500, created in 2023 in collaboration with Pinacoteca Agnelli to offer the possibility to an artist to make a work on the permanent billboard of the testing track on the roof of the Lingotto, in close proximity to Artissima.

The artist is represented by Ciaccia Levi, Paris, Milano.

The award has been assigned by an international jury composed of Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti, chief curator of Pinacoteca Agnelli, Torino; Sarah Cosulich, director, Pinacoteca Agnelli, Torino; Michelle Cotton, head of Artistic Programmes & Content, MUDAM, Luxembourg; Elena Filipovic, director of Kunstmuseum, Basel.
