Artissima presents its new visual identity, reflecting the theme of this 29th edition: Transformative Experience.
“A transformative experience – a concept developed by the American contemporary philosopher Laurie Anne Paul – opens up new horizons to our senses, our thoughts and emotions, to the point of being able to profoundly change us as people. The encounter with art is undoubtedly a transformative and at the same time revealing experience: an intense acceleration towards an unknown but desired future, capable of altering us in cognitive and personal terms, while providing us with new tools for the interpretation of the world.”
Keeping faith with its attitude of innovation and experimentation, the most contemporary art fair in Italy is therefore investigating a theme that is timelier than ever before. In the words of Luigi Fassi, director of Artissima: “In recent years the art world as a whole has witnessed changes in its rules, modes of exchange and informative interactions between sector professionals and art lovers, navigating towards multiple horizons of transformation. The year 2022 is the time in which we want to return to choosing transformative experiences that become genuine revelations.”
The new coordinated image of Artissima 2022 reflects this concept, in an interpretation by the studio Fionda, directed by Roberto Maria Clemente. Dynamic forms, frames and fragments follow each other through rifts in space and time, narrating an unknown dimension in constant transformation, while revealing gateways to new universes.
“Visual flashes, mobile geometries that come to meet us and seduce us, unconsciously attracted towards other worlds: passages leading to the unknown self, or gateways into the palace of all our possible transformations. They are like contemporary sirens that we try to push away to the outskirts of our gaze, denying them, immersed as we are in a hyperactive stream of perceptive stimuli. Suddenly, we put a halt to our automatic progress, and intentionally stumble inside. Because it is only by defying mystery that we can understand the metamorphoses we are capable of setting in motion.”
