Afasia 1

Thanks to the renewed dialogue between Artissima and UNA Esperienze, a UNA Group brand, the Salone delle Feste of the historic Hotel Principi di Piemonte | UNA Esperienze in the centre of Turin hosted a contemporary art exhibition project for the fifth time in collaboration with Artissima. Afasia 1, by Arcangelo Sassolino, is one of the artist’s earliest works where he applies physics to sculpture, exploring the concept of speed. In Afasia 1, the artist invites us to reflect on the power of gesture and the emotional tension of waiting. The work addresses themes of change and time, revealing how what appears definitive can suddenly and unexpectedly transition into a new reality. The destructive action of an ordinary, everyday object undergoes a metamorphosis—a transformative process that sees the object dissolve and reorganize itself in a new dimension, reflecting the ever-changing nature of matter. This project was realized in collaboration with Galleria Continua (San Gimignano, Beijing, Les Moulins, Havana, Roma, Sao Paulo, Paris, Dubai).
