JaguArt

10 Italian cities, 10 Jaguar Land Rover dealerships, 10 contemporary art galleries, 10 Academies of Fine Arts, and 10 artists were the protagonists of JaguArt. The Italian Talent Road Show, the project launched by Artissima and Jaguar in 2019 and based on a shared desire to support emerging art and to trigger positive long-term synergies.

The project called for each city to host two events: the first, at the dealership, was fundamental to determine the winner of each stop, while the second, at the host gallery in that city, held a presentation of the research of the selected artist (discover all the stops here).

The voyage began with the selection of 10 artists: Matteo Pizzolante – winner of the first appointment in Milano, Luca Arboccò – Torino, Francesco Tagliavia – Catania, Camilla Gurgone – Roma, Boris Contarin – Venezia, Stefano Giuri – Firenze, Marco-Augusto Basso – Genova, Teresa Gargiulo – Napoli, Camilla Riscassi – Bologna, and Federica Francesconi – Brescia.

Voting began in 2020 for the occasion of Artissima Unplugged at the GAM in Torino, at the Chalet de l’Ange a Courmayeur, and continued during the group show of the 10 finalists, Sustainable Revolution, in Jaguar Land Rover dealerships in Roma, Genova, Napoli, Bologna and Brescia. The exhibition finally arrived at the fair, where the absolute winner of the project JaguArt. The Italian Talent Road Show has been awarded: Luca Arboccò.

STOP No. 0

ARTISSIMA 2019

At Artissima, from 1 to 3 November 2019, the JaguArt booth involved fair visitors in a talent scouting experience. The audience, just like Artissima and Jaguar during the course of the Road Show with the young talents from fine arts academies, set out to discover 10 Italian artists among the many exhibits at the fair. “Chance” assigned each visitor one artist to discover, learning about their background and research as inspiration to leave a personal mark in the story of JaguArt.

STOP No. 1

MILANO

The first stop of the Roadshow is Milano. The jury – composed of Ilaria Bonacossa, director of Artissima; Francesco Jodice, artist; Lodovica Busiri Vici, director of the gallery Vistamarestudio – awarded Matteo Pizzolante, who was the protagonist of an event at the Lario Mi Auto dealership on 12 December 2019 and at the participating gallery Vistamarestudio of Milano on 15 January 2020.

STOP No. 2

TORINO

The second stop of the Roadshow is Torino. The jury – composed of Ilaria Bonacossa, director of Artissima; Gaspare Luigi Marcone, curator; Davide Mazzoleni, director of the gallery Mazzoleni – awarded Luca Arboccò, who was the protagonist of an event at the BiAuto Club dealership on 28 January 2020 and at the participating gallery Mazzoleni of Torino on 11 February 2020.
On 7 November 2021, during the 28th edition of Artissima, Luca Arboccò was declared the absolute winner of the project JaguArt. The Italian Talent Road Show.

STOP No. 3

CATANIA

The third stop of the Roadshow is Catania. The jury – composed of Ilaria Bonacossa, director of Artissima; Salvatore Lacagnina, curator; Massimo Ligreggi, director of the gallery Massimoligreggi and Santa & Paolo Brodbeck, collectors – awarded Francesco Tagliavia, who was the protagonist of an event at the #FOTIAUTO dealership on 24 September 2020 and at the participating gallery Massimoligreggi of Catania on 8 July 2021.

ROMA

The fourth stop of the Roadshow is Roma. The jury – composed of Ilaria Bonacossa, director of Artissima; Ilaria Gianni, curator; Paola Capata, director of the gallery Monitor – awarded Camilla Gurgone, who was the protagonist of an event at the participating gallery Monitor of Rome on 6 July 2021 and at the Englandstar dealership on 15 September 2021 for the group exhibition Sustainable Revolution.

STOP No. 5

VENEZIA

The fifth stop of the Roadshow is Venezia. The jury – composed of Ilaria Bonacossa, Director of Artissima; Marina Bastianello, Director of the gallery Marina Bastianello, Alberto Tadiello artist, Cristiano Soave collector – awarded Boris Contarin, who was the protagonist of an event at the Autoserenissima dealership on 1 October 2020 and at the participating gallery Marina Bastianello of Venezia on 25 June 2021.

FIRENZE

The sixth stop of the Roadshow is Firenze. The jury – composed of Ilaria Bonacossa, Director of Artissima; Simone Frittelli Director of the gallery Frittelli; Federico Bartolini, collector – awarded Stefano Giuri, who was the protagonist of an event at the International Motors dealership on 7 October 2020 and at the participating gallery Frittelli of Firenze on 13 July 2021.

GENOVA

The seventh stop of the Roadshow is Genova. The jury – composed of Ilaria Bonacossa, Director of Artissima; Simona Barbera, artist and teacher at Accademia Ligustica di Genova, Andrea Fustinoni, collector; Antonella Berruti, Francesca Pennone and Virginia Lupo, Pinksummer; Cesare Viel, artist – awarded Marco Augusto Basso, who was the protagonist of an event at the participating gallery Pinksummer of Genova on 29 June 2021 and at the Queen Land dealership on 6 October 2021 for the group exhibition Sustainable Revolution.

NAPOLI

The eight stop of the Roadshow is Napoli. The jury – composed of Ilaria Bonacossa, Director of Artissima; Tiziana Di Caro, gallerist at Tiziana Di Caro gallery; Fabio Agovino, collector – awarded Teresa Gargiulo, who was the protagonist of an event at the participating gallery Tiziana Di Caro of Napoli on 30 June 2021 and at the Autorally dealership on 16 September 2021 for the group exhibition Sustainable Revolution.

BOLOGNA

The ninth stop of the Roadshow is Bologna. The tenth stop of the Roadshow is Brescia.
