The next edition of Artissima will take place from 1 to 3 November 2019 (opening: 31 October) in Torino, directed by Ilaria Bonacossa.
A must-see event on the international art scene, Artissima is the foremost contemporary art fair in Italy. Experimental, innovative, with a focus on emerging talents and the avant-gardes, it is an indispensable moment for all galleries that want to show their offerings to a sophisticated audience.
Every year Artissima attracts 55,000 art lovers and sector professionals, 5000 collectors and 1500 journalists, welcoming over 190 galleries from more than 35 countries, and 100 curators and museum directors from around the world in the various committees, projects, juries and initiatives of the fair.
The event is held during the first week of November in Torino, a centre of cultural and culinary excellence, where Baroque architecture is combined with an excellent network of contemporary art institutions of international impact.
▶︎ The fair is composed of 7 sections: Main Section, Dialogue, New Entries, Art Spaces & Editions, Present Future, Back to the Future, Disegni.

▶︎ MAIN SECTION
The Main Section contains the most highly acclaimed galleries on the international art scene: the most established names, to offer collectors and the general public an overview of the highest quality.
▶︎ DIALOGUE
Dialogue is set aside only for emerging galleries and those with an experimental approach, presenting booths featuring the works of a single artist or two artists in a dialogue.
▶︎ NEW ENTRIES
New Entries is the section of Artissima on the most interesting young galleries, with less than 5 years of activity, taking part in the fair for the first time.
Art Spaces & Editions is the special section of the fair on non-profit spaces and galleries that offer editions, prints and multiples by contemporary artists.
▶︎ DISEGNI
Disegni is the section of Artissima that presents monographic projects on the latest experimentation with the artistic practice of drawing.
This is a section for up-and-coming talents, preferable under 40 years of age. The artists are selected on the basis of possibly site-specific projects submitted by galleries or outstanding research spaces.
This section is composed of monographic booths for the rediscovery of the great pioneers of contemporary art, with works made from the 1960s to the 1990s. Starting this year, the section is also open to Artists’ Estates.
