12 performances selected for the innovative section of Artissima

29 July 2015 Journal News

Artissima is pleased to announce the artists selected for Per4m 2015.

Following its successful debut in 2014, Artissima presents the second edition of Per4m. This section of the fair devoted to performance art introduces innovative features in terms both of its mode of presentation as well as its approach in the fair context.
Per4m represents an evolution in the way performance is presented within an art fair, in response both to its popularity as a medium and its increasing recognition in the art market.
Consistent with Artissima’s identity as a laboratory for cutting-edge contemporary art, Per4m views performance art as a form of expression which deserves the same attention as other media, from both an artistic and a commercial point of view.

This year the curatorial committee – composed by Simone Menegoi (coordinator), independent curator, Milano, Sophie Goltz, artistic director, Stadtkuratorin, Hamburg and Chris Sharp, independent curator, Mexico City – has selected 12 performances that will be presented in a dedicated stage within the fairground or in shared areas of the Oval pavilion, ensuring great visibility from the public.

The 10.000,00€ prize proves the relevance of this form of experimentation for both Artissima and the partner K-way®.
