Applications for Artissima 2025 are now open

11 March 2025 Journal News

Applications for Artissima 2025 are now open. The Fair will take place from 31 October to 2 November 2025 in Torino (opening: 30 October), directed by Luigi Fassi.

The only Italian fair exclusively focusing on contemporary art, Artissima stands out on the international scene for its experimental, cutting-edge, and sophisticated identity, and for its high-quality exhibits.

The fair 2025

4 flagship sections (Main Section, Monologue/Dialogue, New Entries, Art Spaces & Editions) and 3 curated sections (Present Future, Back to the Future, Disegni) compose the 2025 edition of the fair.

A new theme will symbolically run through the section: OPERATING MANUAL FOR SPACESHIP EARTH. Based on the book of the same title by Richard Buckminster Fuller, published in 1969, this concept urges us to reflect on our presence on Earth, a ‘spaceship’ entrusted to the collective care of its inhabitants. How can we care for the planet? Fate has left us without instructions, but Fuller recommends getting past the boundaries between disciplines, cooperating from a broader, more aware viewpoint. Great visionaries, such as artists, will open up new routes to understand our role at the helm of Spaceship Earth. Artissima 2025 invites its community – participants and visitors – to contribute to the creation of a Manual to guide our planet in the voyage through the challenges of the present.

The sections

Main Section: brings together outstanding galleries from the international art world: established names offer collectors and art lovers an event of the highest quality.

Monologue/Dialogue: is set aside for emerging galleries or those with an experimental approach, applying with either a monographic booth or with works by 2 artists in dialogue.

New Entries: presents the most interesting emerging galleries from the international art scene, that have been open less than 5 years and are taking part in Artissima for the first time. Participating in the section, 3 galleries will be entitled to receive a prize of 3.000 Euro to cover part of the booth costs.

Art Spaces & Editions: is a special section of Artissima exclusively earmarked for galleries and non-profit spaces presenting editions, prints and multiples by contemporary artists.

Present Future: the Artissima section that showcases emerging talents, preferably less than 40 years of age. The artists, presented by their reference galleries, are selected on the basis of a specific project. The section features monographic projects to shed light on new trends across the international art scene.

Back to the Future: presents monographic exhibitions by pioneers of contemporary art who explored diverse methods and possibilities of communication between the 1940s and 1990s. Themes include language as a medium, cybernetics, human-machine interactions, and early media experiments, alongside critical reflections on the conditions and limitations of communication.

Disegni: is the only section in Italian art fairs dedicated to this medium. It presents projects conceived as solo shows that enhance the authenticity and autonomy of the work on paper. The section promotes the uniqueness of the drawing, its innate immediacy, being the first translation of the artist’s idea and the only unfiltered access to his creative process.
