After presenting Issue #0—Performance and Publishing at Artissima in 2022, II Magazine launches Issue #1—Unpublishing and Publishing, with the publisher Paint it Black and in conversation with Francesca Spiller and Reading Room.

Extending the research started with Issue#0, II Magazine Issue#1–Unpublishing and Publishing aims at questioning the contradictions existing within traditionally accepted and decoded forms of publishing, also in relation to lesser visible or permanent forms of expression.

In the age of the algorithm, how do we publish sensitive information while protecting it from being extracted? Through which other channels and methodologies can we disseminate alternative knowledges? Issue #1—Unpublishing and Publishing investigates systemic forms of censorship and control, through the juxtaposition and establishment of an ongoing dialogue with artists, collectives, organizations and researchers who are working to visibilize and oppose them.
